Today is August 1 2019. And that can only mean one thing. It's open enrollment time!
This is an incredibly special day in the life of Cookin’ with Kibby and in the life of my business because this is the launch party for the enrollment season for August of 2019 for my brand new online courses and products that I am rolling out and unveiling this morning.
I'm so excited to make myself available to you and to your families in a more one-on-one way so that I can take the the knowledge and experiences that I've had over the years as a home cook and as a professional chef in the industry for over 20 years and give it to you in a really impactful way.
For those of you that don’t, let me fill you in on what exactly is taking place today. Up until today, most of the things that I have done as far as serving my community have been face to face for people that live in my general geographic area -the hands on kitchen sessions that I've done, where folks have hung out with me in the kitchen for about two and a half hours cooking and eating together, and then live cooking demonstrations that I've done at farmer's markets and corporate wellness events. Those have been the only ways that I've really been able to serve my community.
Today, I am releasing a selection - a menu, if you will - of online courses and services that will help you and your family to better reach your personal goals in being more efficient, more effective, more safe, and enjoying your time cooking and eating together. Let's go through each of those products one by one so that you have a better understanding for what it is that I am offering.
Home Cookin’ Online Community
The first thing I want to talk about is probably the most exciting thing for me, and that is the home cooking online community. This is a year long virtual group coaching session in which members of this community will have access to me in a way that hasn't been available up to this point. We will be doing live q&a sessions and other discussions through a private Facebook group; that's also going to be a place where we will share recipe challenges and group polls and things like that.
As we go through the group coaching process, I'll be spending time getting to know my members and understanding what you're struggling with, what challenges you are facing as a home cook, whether it be particular recipes or ingredients, menu planning, shopping, whatever the case may be. I will be developing content specifically for my members to target those areas in their home cooking lives that are providing the biggest struggles. Many folks feel a little lost and alone in the internet - swimming in a sea of recipes, blogs, videos… It can be really hard to decipher and to curate content that really focuses on the problems that you are facing, so that's the goal and the aspiration for this online community.
Not only are you going to have access to me, but you're going to be a part of a community, a group of people that are just like you that wants something better for their families; they know and understand that preparing food for their families is one of the best things you can do for them - not just from a standpoint of health but also for having healthy relationships. As a family man myself and having biological, foster, and adoptive kiddos, the idea of involving my kids in the cooking process is so important and valuable for their development as independent people and building strong and meaningful relationships.

One-On-One Kitchen Coaching
For those of you that really feel like there's some something specific with which you are struggling and are in need of some personal accountability, my one-on-one coaching is perfect for you. I am making myself available to a select number of coaching clients (because let's face it, I only have so many hours in a week or in a month to give) who will speak to me on a monthly basis so that we can do a deep-dive on the problems and struggles that you're facing and give personal answers just for you and get you really fast results.
You can do a single coaching call or sign up for an entire year of coaching calls where we will talk together once a month, every month, for an entire year. You're going to see some really great benefits from that because over this period of a year, we're going to really get to know each other, and I'm going to be able to better serve you (not to mention the fact that signing up for the entire year is a better value, you get what two months free essentially). You will also get access to the online community membership site where you'll be able to take part in our group coaching discussions and the Facebook group.
Online Knife Skills Course
Last but not least is my online knife skills course. Now this is a session that I've taught in person to a number of people: I've been in family consumer science classrooms throughout the area, and I've done a number of hands-on kitchen sessions for people young and old alike teaching them this valuable skill.
I can think of nothing else that can give the struggling home cook or the novice home cook a real leg up in the kitchen Than teaching them practical and simple knife skills.
This online knife skills course will allow you to learn at your own pace and to be given a thorough overview on what is a kitchen knife: what are the different parts? What are the shapes? What are the styles, different cutting motions, and how do you grip it so that you are being safe? On top of all of that, I'm going to be demonstrating for you specific knife cuts on a number of different common household ingredients.
Furthermore, we're going to take it one step further and give you some really practical ways of putting this new knowledge to good use by actually cooking some recipes together; I have already taped one of the videos and hope to be creating some more content over the coming weeks and months where you actually get a chance to cook along with me in real time with a recipe so that you can see how these knife cuts that you have just learned and are practicing can be practical in your day to day life. It can be hard to learn things because a lot of times you feel like you have to dedicate time and so you're losing time elsewhere. Doing these cooking challenges together gives you an opportunity to practice these knife skills in a way that doesn't sacrifice any time for you and your family because you’re going to cook something that you can then sit down and eat with your family.
Unlike the other courses (the membership and the coaching), the knife skill session is a one-time purchase; once you've bought it, it is yours forever. There's no time limit on it, you can do it at your own pace. There isn't the accountability part or the community part of that course, but I do feel like it is going to be so valuable to you and your family.
